Jack W. Mayfield

President, Evolutionary Contractors LLC

Jack Mayfield’s journey in the construction industry began with a solid foundation rooted in education and a commitment to family. A graduate of Tarleton State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1999, Jack quickly transitioned from college into his professional career, which led him to the retail sector with Sherwin Williams. His work with Sherwin Williams sparked an interest in the construction industry, and by 2002, Jack took a bold step and founded Integrated Painting LLC, a commercial painting company specializing in industrial and retail painting and finishes.

In the years that followed, Jack and his company faced the challenges of a rapidly changing industry. The financial crisis of 2008/2009 reshaped the construction landscape, forcing many businesses to adapt or close their doors. For Jack, this period was a defining moment. As projects shrank in size, he expanded his scope of services, taking on a broader range of trades and ultimately positioning Integrated Painting as a more comprehensive interior finish-out contractor. By 2012, the company was self-performing most scopes of work, including drywall, framing, acoustic ceiling tile systems, and wall finishes.

By 2014, Jack’s vision for the company had grown to include general contracting, and the company took on its first project as a General Contractor—a 20,000 sq. ft. privately-owned fitness gym. With a growing reputation for quality work and dependable results, Integrated Painting began to take on more large-scale tenant finish-out projects.

As the company evolved, so did its identity. In 2018, recognizing the need for a name that better reflected its broad range of services, Jack rebranded the company to Evolutionary Contractors LLC. The new name embodied the company’s transformation from a commercial painting contractor to a full-service general contractor, poised to handle larger and more complex projects. During this time, the company also expanded its state licensing, now serving clients across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Today, Evolutionary Contractors is built on a foundation of unwavering core values—quality, accountability, and relationships. These principles have allowed the company to grow steadily over the years, with repeat business accounting for 90% of annual sales. Jack’s philosophy has always been that in a competitive industry, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional quality are far more important than offering the lowest prices.

Under Jack’s leadership, Evolutionary Contractors has overcome financial crises, pandemics, and industry shifts, emerging stronger and more determined. His commitment to fulfilling promises, paying attention to the smallest details, and ensuring fast turnaround times has earned the company its reputation as a preferred contractor for a wide range of clients.

Influenced by the Henry Van Dyke quote, “Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to,” Evolutionary Contractors continues to grow, Jack remains committed to these core beliefs and the principles that have been the cornerstone of the company’s success. With determination and a focus on delivering excellence, Jack looks forward to continuing the company’s journey, one project at a time.
